Ellie Sougioultzoglou known as Nelly's, first visited the island in 1927. He had already become known in Athens photos settlements, antiques and portraits and was recognized internationally with impressive pictures of a naked dancer on the Acropolis.
In Crete Nelly's meets a society with archaic structures that have little changed over the centuries, is also impressed with the record crowd shots.
The material presented here represents-with a series of excellent photographs, taken with immediacy and natural areas-the face of a society that has now been radically transformed.
